CBeebies' superstar Andy Day is coming to Edinburgh with his Odd Socks - here's how to meet him
HE'S a superstar of CBeebies, but at the Church Hill Theatre this April, Andy Day will be found rocking out as front-man the Odd Sock’s in a new show for all the family.
Fast becoming the most popular live music acts for kids in the UK, Andy and the Odd Socks have now played more than 100 shows including Glastonbury. The London five-piece consists of the CBeebies' favourite and a colourful collection of characters, there's Rio from Planet Rock on guitar, mega Moxy on drums, cool Blu on bass and crazy Cousin Mac on the keys.
Playing energetic songs that all hold a message of acceptance and encouragement for those young and old who feel a bit like an odd sock, the show will feature original songs from Day’s brand-new TV Show, Andy and the Band, which will debut on BBC iPlayer early next year.
A legend in children's TV circles, Day is currently CBeebies longest-serving presenter having presented his first programme some 12 years ago. Since 2007 he has fronted Andy's Wild Adventures, Andy's Dinosaur Adventures, Andy's Secret Hideout, Andy's Baby Animals, Andy's Safari Adventures and Andy's Prehistoric Adventures.
Day has taken part in the CBeebies live arena tour every year since 2012 and appeared at the Fringe in 2009. He arrives back in the Capital with the Odd Socks just four days after the release of their new album, Who's In The Odd Socks, which will include 17 brand new songs including the recent single Change.
Tickets priced at £15 are now on sale with a £10 Meet & Greet upgrade voucher also available - one voucher allows up to four people to attend the Meet & Greet.
