Monkey about by night at the National Museum of Scotland

BRAIN teasers, sensory experiences and monkey madness alongside a great Scottish musical line-up are just some of the things set to be served up at the National Museum of Scotland on Friday evening.

The latest Museum Late, Monkey Business, finds Glasgow-based White headlining the main stage in the Grand Gallery with their synth sounds and infectious hooks, supported by Be Charlotte.

Hosted by Vic Galloway, with Fresh Air DJs ending the night with some floor fillers the evening’s cacophony of sound promises to be as varied as the jungle chorus itself and complements the museum’s current exhibition Monkey Business, which runs until 23 April.

Continuing the theme of the evening, step into the Museum’s iconic Grand Gallery and you will find yourself in a long-abandoned building deep in the jungle. Dappled lighting, hanging vines and even an appearance from some aerial ‘monkey’ performers will transport you to the heart of the jungle.

Other entertainment on offer will include primate bingo, a chance to pick the brains of primate keepers from the zoo and the opportunity to get inside the mind of a monkey with various experts in the field.

Feeling adventurous? Then there will be insect tasting throughout the evening and for those not looking to tuck into a grub or two, don’t worry, there will be bars and food as well.

Popular Museum Lates highlights will also return with Fresh Air FM providing the soundtrack for the silent disco alongside craft activities from The Red Door Gallery and jungle-themed games.
