Preview: No Strings Attached presents “A Love From Outer Space”

THE Clean Air Act may have helped rid Edinburgh of its unwanted “Auld Reekie” sobriquet, but that doesn’t mean the Capital can’t welcome the odd Smokebelch now and again.

This Friday, Lord Sabre himself, Andrew Weatherall, returns to the city to bring his “A Love from Outer Space” project to The Caves.

There is much excitement in the club scene around Weatherall and Sean Johnston’s event, which is making big waves in clubs, festivals and the electronic dance community around the world.

A Love from Outer Space arrives in Edinburgh for the second time in 2012 as part of a series of parties at the seminal Niddry Street venue.

Ex-Sabres of Paradise front-man Weatherall -- who has produced such artists as Beth Orton, Primal Scream and One Dove, and has remixed the work of Björk, Siouxsie Sioux, The Orb, The Future Sound of London, New Order, Manic Street Preachers, My Bloody Valentine, James and many others -- combines with balearic master Johnston to take control with their unique sound which has almost defined a new genre in electronic dance music and provides the opportunity to hear it in it’s purist form. It’s an event not to be missed.
