Teenage girl takes stage with blues legend

A TEENAGER from South Queensferry has taken to the stage with American blues giant Joe Bonamassa.

Eilidh Mckellar, 18, met Bonamassa three years ago when she interviewed him as part of a Blues for Schools programme in Edinburgh.

He decided he would like to take her under his wing, in the same way he was mentored by BB King. She played a guest sport during his concert at the London Hammersmith Odeon in October and the pair played together in Scotland for the first time at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on Wednesday.

Bonamassa described her as “one of the brightest players I have encountered in a long time”.
