Blue Peter legends set for Edinburgh TV Festival

Blue Peter legends Valerie Singleton and Peter Purves have joined the line-up as the Edinburgh TV Festival celebrates its 60th anniversary.

They will choose the winner when a host of TV executives are put through the ultimate screen test – to see if they have what it takes to become a presenter on the hit children’s show.

Strictly Come Dancing champion Ore Oduba will also take part in the opening session of the festival.

He said: “I was, and still am, such a huge Blue Peter fan, and to have Peter and Valerie on the judging panel is fantastic and incredibly nerve-racking I’m sure for our fellow execs.

“I’m looking forward to seeing them bounce, cut, stick and sweet talk their way through the competition.”

The festival will also feature Walter Iuzzolino from Walter Presents in a session from Channel 4 which looks at the do’s and don’ts of commissioning On Demand content.

Lisa Campbell, festival director, said: “There is a huge breadth of content on offer.”
