Gutted to have missed out on Stereophonics tickets? Have no fear - the band has just announced a second performance at Edinburgh Castle, on Saturday, July 16.

Mark Mackie director of Castle Concerts/Regular Music said: “We are absolutely delighted at the response and the show selling out so quickly, we have now added a second night, which is on sale now.”

Over the years Edinburgh Castle has played host to many international stars such as Rod Stewart, Blondie, Elton John, The Proclaimers, Tom Jones, Leonard Cohen and Pink.

“Edinburgh was the first huge gig we ever played - Princes Street on New Year’s Eve 1996!  It was before we had even released Word Gets Around! I love Scottish crowds, they are up there with best in the world! I can’t wait to rock the castle!” said Kelly Jones

The new album, Keep The Village Alive, written and produced by Kelly Jones debuted at number 1 and follows the acclaimed 2013 platinum release, ‘Graffiti On The Train’, which sold over 300,000 copies in the UK. Since winning a Brit Award in 1998 for Best New Group Stereophonics have developed a sound that is like few others.

Their achievements are many. They are the 8th group to achieve 5 consecutive UK number 1 albums in a list that includes the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, ABBA, Genesis, Oasis, Blur and U2. They’ve enjoyed 11 top 10 singles including the number 1 single ‘Dakota’. Their hits collection, ‘Decade In The Sun’, sold 1.2 million copies in the UK while they sold over 150,000 tickets on their last 16 date UK arena tour.

Nick Finnigan, Edinburgh Castle’s executive manager, said: “We look forward to welcoming the Stereophonics to the stage on Edinburgh Castle’s Esplanade next summer, as they perform some of their most iconic hits, as part of 2016’s Castle Concerts line-up.”
