Holographic Roy Orbison ready to sing all night

Instead, it’s a holographic Roy Orbison that will play two the Greenside Place venue.

The concert will be the first of its kind in the UK and feature the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer backed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Danny Betesh, founder and MD Kennedy Street and promoter of Roy Orbison In Dreams: The Hologram UK Tour, says, “I worked with Roy during the peak of his career and his music has really stood the test of time.

“It is popular with all generations so it’s immensely exciting to see him back on the stage in such a modern and creative way.

“Tickets for this tour have been box office dynamite, we’ve had to expand the seating options for lots of the venues to accommodate the mounting demand.

“It’s proof that this much-loved music never went away and we’re really excited this technology has given us the chance to bring it back to the stage.”

Appetite for Orbison hasn’t faded away since the artist’s untimely death in 1988, and now 30 years later fans can witness classic songs such as Pretty Woman You Got It and I Drove All Night performed back on the stage.
