Edinburgh soaks up the last of the summer sunshine as Festival season comes to an end
As Edinburgh bids farewell to Festival season for another year today (27 Aug), the sun looks set to bless us with its presence again, according to the Met Office.
After a chillier start to the day than Edinburgh locals have been used to lately, temperatures will begin to climb around lunchtime, reaching a peak of 17C by around 4pm.
Although the skies will cloud over briefly in the early afternoon, sunny intervals are expected from around 4pm. The skies should then clear at around 6pm, paving the way for a sunny and warm evening.
Following sunset, a clear night is forecasted, which is good news for anyone planning to watch the end of Festival fireworks, let off from the Castle.
Throughout the day, wind speeds should get no higher than 13 miles per hour, dropping to around 11 by nightfall.
There is a medium risk of harm from UV rays today, so be sure to protect your skin and eyes with sun cream and appropriate clothing.
