Viral sensation and stand up Gary Meikle is coming to Edinburgh, here's when tickets go on sale

HE’S being touted as one of the hottest newcomers on the comedy circuit, and now, following a sell-out 2019 UK tour, award-winning Scottish stand-up and viral sensation Gary Meikle is set make his King’s Theatre debut.

As part of his new 42 date UK tour, Meikle will bring his brand-new show, Surreal, to the Leven Street venue on Friday 18 September 2020.

Surreal perfectly describes Meikle’s last 12 months, having started the year performing in comedy clubs, he ended it selling out theatres across the globe, after a video about his daughter’s eyebrow’s went viral.

“2019 has been such a surreal year for me since the videos took off,” he says.

“I’m excited to get back to stand up with this new 2020 tour and to tell audiences about how I’ve been dealing with all the madness... from women sending me countless pictures of their foreheads thinking I’m some sort of eyebrow connoisseur.

Never one for mincing his words, the funnyman has been described as ‘playfully dark’. His cheeky chappy nature and ability to get away with talking about anything will have you laughing at things you probably shouldn’t.

In Surreal, which goes on sale on Friday 22 November, Meikle will, as always, draw material from his own real-life experiences, including his unique family dynamic and his rapid rise to online fame. A night of stand up with Meikle has been described as ‘like a night in the pub chatting with friends’.
