XTC hits to be heard live for first time in four decades at Edinburgh's Queen's Hall this May

XTC was one of the most influential British bands to emerge from the late-70s punk and new wave scene, with hits like Making Plans For Nigel, Senses Working Overtime, Dear God, Mayor Of Simpleton and Sgt. Rock (Is Going To Help Me).

Artists worldwide in many genres cite XTC as a major influence, and the band was recently the subject of the acclaimed documentary, XTC: This Is Pop.

Following sold-out concerts in 2018 with fellow original XTC member Colin Moulding under the banner TC&I, XTC’s drummer Terry Chambers has joined forces with TC&I colleagues Steve Tilling on vocals and guitar, and Gary Bamford on keyboards, guitar and vocals, along with Matt Backer on vocals and guitar and Ken Wynne on bass and vocals.

Together, they are EXTC, a band that comes with the blessing and support of Chambers' former XTC band mates Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding and Dave Gregory.

EXTC will perform a full set of classic XTC material, much of which has never been aired live, and fans will hear it first here in Edinburgh when the band make their debut at the Queen’s Hall, Clerk Street, on Sunday 31 May.

EXTC’s special guests at the Queen’s Hall will be Band 'A' who will open the evening with their acclaimed homage to Billy Mackenzie and The Associates, marking the 40th anniversary of the release of the classic debut album The Affectionate Punch by performing it in full.
