You can spend an evening in the company of Scottish football legend Gordon Strachan - here's how to meet him

AT The Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh, on Thursday 30 January at 8pm, there’s a chance top spend the evening with Scottish football legend Gordon Strachan.

Over the years Strachan has built up an immense reputation in the world of football. He played at the highest level with a range of clubs winning League titles on both sides of the border, as well as European success. He graced the international stage for Scotland on 50 occasions before entering management, most notably taking Southampton to the FA Cup Final, winning trophies over a four year period at Celtic and taking charge of the Scottish international side.

On what promises to be an entertaining night, he will discuss his colourful career and life with Gerry McDade.

Leith-born Strachan played for Dundee, Aberdeen, Manchester United, Leeds United and Coventry City, in his 635 game club career, scoring a total of 138 goals. He earned 50 caps for Scotland scoring five goals and playing in two FIFA World Cup final tournaments, Spain 82 and Mexico 86.

He has also managed Coventry City and Middlesbrough. Strachan made his senior club debut in 1974 with Dundee and finished his career as a player/coach with Coventry. He was the FWA Footballer of the Year in 1990/91 and in 2007 was inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame.

Standard tickets for The Brunton event cost £25. There's also a chance to purchase a VIP package, available priced £40, which include a meet and greet with Strachan at 6pm and premier seating for the event itself.
