Tributes paid to Coronation Street actress Liz Dawn
They said the 77-year-old died peacefully on Monday night at home “with her loving family around her”.
They added: “She has been the love, light and inspiration in our lives and we are bereft at her passing.”

Hide AdCoronation Street said in a statement that “her family at Coronation Street are heartbroken. Liz brought so much joy and happiness to so many.
“She was a wonderful actress who will forever be a true Coronation Street legend.”
After being diagnosed with emphysema, Dawn was written out of the soap in 2008, when Vera died in her sleep. In 2015, she came out of retirement to do a cameo in Emmerdale’s Christmas special.
Meanwhile. actor Tony Booth, who played “Scouse git” Mike in 1960s sitcom Till Death Us Do Part, has also died, his family announced.

Hide AdBooth, 85, who was the father of Cherie Blair, died on Monday night. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2004 and had also suffered heart problems.
A statement released on behalf of his wife Steph Booth said: “It is with sadness we announce the death of Antony Booth, actor and political campaigner.”
Booth’s character in the hugely popular sitcom reflected his own left-wing political beliefs.
