The dominant display by the Scots at Ottowa's TD Place Arena began from the second end and they remained in charge the whole way through until securing their 9-3 win. It took until the fourth end for Canada to even got on the board, but Scotland soon widened their lead to 6-1 at the halfway mark. Securing three at the eighth end led to Canada conceding.
Scotland captain Bruce Mouat reacted to the victory saying: "We shot the lights out. I didn't expect the final to go that way, but I'm so proud of everyone who has been part of our team.” Together with teammates Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan, the Scotland curlers add their world gold to their current European title and an Olympic silver medal.

Scotland’s women are back in action this evening against Costa Rica at Hampden, while the good news continues for the men’s team with Scotland's chances of qualifying directly for the Euro 2024 finals now apparently surging to 73 per cent after winning their opening two games.
