POLICE have arrested a woman after a Facebook video claimed referendum documents, including unused ballot papers had been found near a council bin.
Council chiefs rejected the claims and insisted the documents had been removed from a storage area.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland arrested a 28-year-old woman on Monday following the theft of referendum materials in East Lothian. Enquiries are ongoing at this stage and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
