NON FICTION: The book that’s more than just a book, book by peter kay HHHH

COMEDIAN Peter Kay’s third publication, The Book... is essentially an expansion of his most recent sell-out tour.

Kay’s established comical ramblings about nostalgia and affectionate contempt for his childhood and family history are explored in slightly more depth on paper than on stage.

Set pieces about going to the dentist and technology - the frustrations of almost filling the Sky Plus planner and eerie glow from too many gadget chargers - are linked by general musings on modern life and its difference to the 1970s.

With Kay’s conversational writing style this is a very easy read with ‘Christmas present’ written all over it.
