Edinburgh International Film Festival and Unique Events give you the chance to do just that from Thursday 27 August with Drive-In Movies, a brand new outdoor event bringing a weekend of family favourites, timeless classics and blockbusters to Edinburgh Airport.

Scheduled to take place over the last weekend of every month for the rest of the year, Drive-In Movies is much more than just a night at the pictures, with a morning Kids Club, family favourites in the afternoon, an evening blockbuster and late-night cult classics for adults.

Drive-in Movies brings 13 films such as Airplane!, The Princess Bride, Get Out, Grease and Dirty Dancing to the screen. Others to be shown are Sunshine On Leith, Con Air, Mary Poppins Returns, Clueless, Romeo and Juliet, Up, Alien and La La Land. Food and drink will be available on site including fish and chips from seafood specialists Alandas.

Those not behind the wheel, meanwhile, can partake of a beer from award-winning local brewery Cold Town Beer.

Nairn’s Oatcakes will also be giving out free Oat Bars for everyone at the family screenings of Mary Poppins Returns and Up, while in the hour before screenings, DJ Stewart Calverto will transform into Captain Calverto, the event’s MC, to warm up the crowd with film-themed quizzes and a car disco.

So, turn off your engines and unfasten your seat-belts, it’s time for Drive-In Movies at Edinburgh Airport.
