Prefview: River City, BBC1 Scotland

THIS week in Shieldinch Lenny finds himself losing his grip on the underworld; the Tall Ship reopens but Raymond’s not ready to go back; and Bob struggles with his grief as he starts IVF with Stella.

Yes, it’s drama after drama in River City on Tuesday, but be warned, spoilers follow, so if you’d rather not know what happens, stop reading now...

As the day begins on Montego Street, Molly starts work in Amber Cabs as Jimmy heads off for tea for them both. Just before he gets back, two masked men appear in the office and as Molly tries to defend the place. One of them hits her. Jimmy is devastated to find her but, after she lets out a groan, he immediately calls an ambulance - the police soon follow.

Lenny (actor Frank Gallagher, pictured), is genuinely upset when he sees Molly in such a state but DCI Donald is instantly suspicious of why Lenny wasn’t in the office and implies he might have set up the whole situation. Lenny isn’t giving anything away but is determined to find out who was behind the attack and the theft of thousands of pounds from his safe. However, when DCI Donald digs a little deeper he realises he has found a perfect bargaining tool with Lenny.

The Tall Ship is due to reopen and it’s all hands on deck for a party that night - although Raymond and Stevie are struggling to be back in the pub again and are in no mood for celebrations. On the night Stevie manages to put a brave face on things and tries to convince Raymond to do the same. However, images from the past just won’t leave Raymond’s mind.

Stella and Bob are underway with their first IVF treatment and Stella has been for her egg retrieval. Now they just have to wait and see if they can move on to the next stage. Bob is trying hard to be supportive but is clearly struggling with his grief over Deek.

Stella tries to convince Bob to come to the party at the Tall Ship but he is not ready to forget about his best friend and snaps at Stella. But when Stella gets news about the first stage of her treatment, will she feel ready to share it with her husband?
