The panel show is presented by the former Great British Bake Off host and features celebrity guests

She may always be known as one half of a presenter duo, but Mel Giedroyc is back on screens in her own right with a brand new TV show.

The comedian has partnered with UKTV’s comedy channel, Dave, to bring laughs and untold stories from comedians, celebrities and reality stars to the small screen.

Giedroyc recently joined her comedy partner, Sue Perkins, in Sky 1’s programme Hitmen, in which they played assassins. Her new show will now centre around the theme of ‘sins’.

So what can viewers expect from Unforgivable? Here’s what we know so far, and when it will be on TV.

What is the format of Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable?

Comedian Giedroyc will present the panel show, joined by three celebrities per episode and her co-host and sidekick, Lou Sanders.

The set will include a confessional segment, where comedians will share untold personal stories about sins they have committed.

The show has three rounds, with the sinners revealing a sin each time, before discussing who has behaved the worst, essentially rewarding bad behaviour while giving viewers a good laugh in the process.

Ben Wicks, Executive Producer at Expectation productions, suggested Geidroyc will be performing “a vital public service: deciding which of Britain’s funniest and most entertaining people are the biggest wrong uns.”

Leading by example, Giedroyc will also share a multitude of her own sins and “shameful secrets”, according to the show’s producers.

Announcing her latest show in 2020, Giedroyc said: “I only hope it's as fun to watch as it is to host.

“Though I also hope that anyone I've wronged and doesn't yet know it doesn't watch Dave.”

Which guests have been confirmed?

Dave has already shared hilarious teasers for the new panel show, including Graham Norton confessing to blowing off Giedroyc - who is also a close friend of his - in an accidental mix up over lunch dates.

Eight episodes have been confirmed, so we can expect a line up of 24 celebrity sinners to disclose their immoralities, scandals and bad behaviour.

During episode one, Graham Norton, Alex Brooker and Desiree Burch will share some salacious stories, including being aroused at a funeral and cheating with a friend’s partner. The three contestants also reveal tales of their childhood, including hilarious lies they told their parents and attempts to get the attention of their school crush.

The line up continues on a high - episode two will see Jimmy Carr explain how he took advantage of his mother's narcolepsy, and also vandalised his school in a rather unforgivable manner.

Episode three features Johnny Vegas and tales of his old bath time routine, as well as selling fish for booze.

While episode four sees funnyman Tom Allen and TOWIE star Gemma Collins fight it out with actor and comedian Darren Harriot, to be crowned the biggest sinner.

The full list of contestants can be found on the British Comedy Guide.

Dave’s channel director, Luke Hales, described the channel as “committed to becoming the home of the best comic talent in the UK and this marks another brilliant and exciting step in that direction.”

He said of Giedroyc: “We love Mel G, we know how funny, warm and brilliant she is from working with her on Taskmaster and knew we wanted to work with her more.”

Where can I watch it?
