My Perfect Weekend: Vanessa Kennedy

Vanessa Kennedy, 37, from Leith, is the leisure marketing manager for Macdonald Hotels & Resorts

1 Who would be your ideal weekend companion and why? Stephen Fry. I think he is brilliant, talented, funny and fascinating.

2 Where would you take him in Edinburgh? National Museum of Scotland – it’s one of my favourite places in Edinburgh. It’s a stunning building which holds fantastic exhibitions.

3 Where would you go for breakfast/lunch/dinner? Breakfast – Renroc cafe at 91 Montgomery street for the “Full Montgomery”. Lunch – The Old Chain Pier, Granton. It’s a cosy place that serves quality food with lovely staff. Dinner – Bon Vivant on Thistle Street, they do a tasty tapas style menu, amazing cocktails and all with cool music in relaxed surrounding.

4 What one item would you not be without? Credit card – there is temptation round every corner in Edinburgh.

5 How would your perfect weekend finish? A trip to the country for a gourmet experience with John Paul at the Macdonald Marine Hotel & Spa. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
