Procurator joins Lothian and Borders team

A NEW area procurator fiscal for Lothian and Borders has been appointed.

John Logue, who was previously the area procurator fiscal for Tayside, brings more than 16 years of experience as a prosecutor to his new post.

The appointment was announced yesterday by the Lord Advocate, the Right Honourable Frank Mulholland QC.

Mr Mullholland said: “I am pleased to announce that John Logue will now head up our prosecution team for Lothian and Borders.

“John has been pivotal in shaping the policy and management agenda of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service in recent years. He also played a crucial role at the Lockerbie trial and continues to work on the case. He has a lengthy track record in operational casework.

“I have every confidence that the Lothian and Borders team will continue to go from strength to strength under his leadership.”

Mr Logue said: “I am delighted to join the Lothian and Borders prosecution team.

“I look forward to working closely with my new colleagues – ensuring that we can bring to justice those who undermine and harm our communities.”
