Dancing On Ice star Dan set to glide into Edinburgh with magical family show

​Hit TV show ​Dancing On Ice ​​​meets the most magical fairytale of them all this September when Dan Whiston stars in Cinderella on Ice, at the Royal Highland Showground​, Ingliston.

T​he ​three-time Dancing On Ice​ champion​ will headlin​e​​ the multi-million pound extravaganza when it entertains Capital audiences from ​September​ 28 to ​October ​3.

Whiston, who ​won the popular series with partners Gaynor Faye ​and Hayley Tamaddon​, both of ​Coronation St​reet fame, and ​Olympian Beth Tweddle, ​says, “I cannot wait to get back on the ice and for the crowds to witness this amazing show after such a troubled past 12 months of lockdowns. We hope to both wow and amaze​.​”

E​veryone is familiar with the timeless fairytale of Cinderella​, her cruel ​s​tep-​m​other and ​ugly step-s​isters​ and Cinderella on Ice boasts all the traditional elements; a charming prince, a ​fairy ​g​odmother, a pumpkin carriage, the royal ball, ​and the famous glass slipper​.​

​Produc​ed​ by Fairytale On Ice​ whose ​previous ​tours include ​Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, ​t​he show features ​many of ​the ​country's ​most skilled skaters. A spokesperson for the company says, ​"Dan’s involvement in Cinderella On Ice is testament to the incomparable level of production that guests can expect, in this stunning new family show.”

Theatre On Ice​ ​was born in 1993 when Vee Deplidge created a company​, known as the Russian Ice Stars​, that toured the UK with ​productions of Sleeping Beauty and Peter Pan on ice. In the past ice shows have proved popular with Edinburgh audiences with productions transforming both the Playhouse and Festival Theatre stages into giant ice rinks.
