Declare Phoenix Dance Theatre’s show a success

THE award-winning Phoenix Dance Theatre present their acclaimed show, Declarations, at the Traverse tomorrow.

The bill features four diverse, entertaining dance works. With a live microphone at its heart, Aletta Collins’ Maybe Yes Maybe, Maybe No Maybe blends movement and voices to create a fresh, witty piece of dance, whilst Isira Makuloluwe’s Locked in Vertical sees dancers coil and turn their way through breathtakingly fluid choreography.

Inspired by Barack Obama, Warren Adams’ The Audacious One is a taut, passionate look into a world of political intrigue and power.

Danced to selected movements from Mozart’s Requiem, the piece examines the question “What do we do once we agree to disagree?” through fluid choreography for seven sharply-dressed dancers.

The programme is completed by a Phoenix classic from Philip Taylor, the poignant and atmospheric Haunted Passages.

Set in an eerie world that is not quite a dream, organisers called it a “spine tingling, atmospheric work”.
