Established in 1988, the firm has expanded its reach north of the Border over the last 15 years, from its operations in Aberdeen and Edinburgh. Its Scottish sites include Edinburgh, Kirkliston, North Berwick and Shawfair.

The Dandara East Scotland business is now planning to increase its annual housebuilding target of 100 units to at least 450 in the next five years.

South of the Border, the housebuilding arm of the group is also growing with regional offices in Hemel Hempstead, Tunbridge Wells and Southampton.

The expansion is focused on complementing the bespoke developments that the firm has become renowned for on the Isle of Man and Jersey.

Dandara has also achieved five-star status in the latest Home Builders Federation (HBF) annual new homes survey, in its first year of participating. The study is one of the largest of its type with nearly 50,000 people who have recently bought a new-build home completing it.

Iain Innes, managing director of Dandara East Scotland, who joined the firm last summer, said: “Despite the challenges of the pandemic over the last year we have remained committed to our customer care. In 2021, we have kickstarted the year with a raft of new site acquisitions throughout east central Scotland, and it is our ambition to build and sell five-star quality homes across more of the Central Belt than ever before.

“To achieve a five-star rating in our first year of entering is testament to the customer experience, build product and quality, which has been part of Dandara’s DNA in Scotland for 15 years.”

Stewart Baseley, executive chairman at the Home Builders Federation, said: “The survey demonstrates that the industry is delivering an excellent level of service in the opinion of over 90 per cent of its customers.

“The fact that we have seen four successive years of improved satisfaction levels shows the clear focus builders have been putting on the customer. That this level of satisfaction has been delivered during a pandemic that saw sites closed and builders unable to access homes for a period makes it even more of an achievement.”
