Car dealership Lookers, with branches across Scotland, to cut 1,500 jobs

The company runs seven outlets in Scotland.

Around 1,500 jobs are set to be axed at car dealership Lookers as the group announced plans to slash costs in the face of the coronavirus crisis and a tough car market.

Lookers run dealerships in Edinburgh’s Sighthill, Hamilton, Ayr, Stirling, Bailieston and Glasgow’s Braehead and Hillington.

They own 138 branches across the whole of the UK.
