Thompson has received three honorary doctorate degrees from Glasgow University, Queen Margaret University and Heriot-Watt University and won an ITV Pride of Britain Award and the Livingstone Medal from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.

She said: “Being invited as the headline speaker at Love Your Business networking event this month is a real honour.

“I first spoke at this event over three years ago and so much of my life has change since then, in particular, making the decision to fly solo and follow my dreams of using my experiences and learnings over the last ten years to help other people in business who want to lead with integrity – I’m really looking forward to it.”

Zakia Moulaoui Guery, the founder of Love Your Business community partner Invisible Cities, a not-for-profit organisation which trains people who have experienced homelessness to become walking tour guides in their own city, is also a guest speaker.

Brown said: “Alice has an inspiring career journey which we are looking forward to her touching on at the event, even more so we are really excited to hear how she has taken all of those experiences and created a business model of her own which will really help people who are either starting out, growing their business or struggling due to Covid setbacks and restrictions.

“It will also great to hear from Zakia Moulaoui Guery, who will be telling us about the ‘500 Miles in 5 Cities’ campaign and corporate virtual tours they are running which are great team building activities.”
