Bross Bagels, with branches all over the city including Leith, Morningside and Edinburgh’s West End, hopes to set up a custom-made Bross Bakery opposite its flagship store in Portobello, where it all began.

The crowdfunder, which was launched on Monday, is asking customers to donate "to help in making the dream happen” and giving fans the chance to become “share holers” in the business.

Depending on the level, customers could receive vouchers for up to four years, exclusive invites, guided bakery tours, a mention on the wall, and also potentially a full refund after the four years.

The new bakery will also be a chance for the branch to develop its wholesale and online trade.

A Bross Bagels spokeswoman said: “This crowdfunding opportunity gives customers an amazing chance to be a part of Bross Bagels future and journey together, which will raise the significant funds to set up and grow the brand new bakery in Portobello where it all began."
