Dobbies Garden Centre has welcomed an award winning butcher to its Edinburgh branch.

Walter Smith Fine Foods will be open from Friday in the food court of the garden centre where it will provide locally-sourced meat.

As well as cuts of beef, lamb and pork, a lot of premade meals will be available including pork pies, lasagne and cottage pies ready to be put in the oven.

Graeme Jenkins, CEO of Dobbies, said: “Walter Smith Fine Foods is a brilliant addition to our Edinburgh store and we’re sure that the butchers will be popular with our customers.

“At Dobbies, we pride ourselves on offering customers a wide range of quality produce, freshly-baked goods and general grocery items all under one roof.”

Dobbies has also recently announced that it will be partnering up with Sainsbury’s supermarket to offer more convenience food to its customers.

Robert Jones, Retail Director at Walter Smith Fine Foods, added: “We’re delighted to be launching our butchery and deli counter at Dobbies’ Edinburgh store, and look forward to customers trying our award-winning products.

“We’ve been in business for 135 years and we are proud to deliver quality service and, of course, the best quality meats and produce.”

There will be a 10% discount for Dobbies Club members from Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 26 at the Edinburgh branch.
