Harrods has been a longstanding leading beauty destination, bringing together premium luxury beauty brands and services and treatment from world-leading experts in beauty, skincare, wellness and hair all under one roof.

In recent years Harrods has significantly invested into expanding its beauty offering, first through the Beauty Masterplan, an investment project that saw the opening of a new 90,000 sq ft Beauty Hall in the Knightsbridge store in 2019, and more recently through the launch of H beauty, a brand innovation that brings the Harrods beauty experience to new communities outside London.

Despite the highly challenging retail environment, both H beauty stores have continued to thrive since opening, combining Harrods’ famous experiential retail environment and a portfolio of premium brands and beauty services under one roof to create a truly unique offering to local beauty communities.

The announcement of the next three permanent H beauty openings is a milestone in this strategic domestic growth project for Harrods.

The unprecedented circumstances of the last year has had a huge impact on the retail industry, forcing many retailers to close their doors, yet Harrods has consistently responded to the changing retail landscape with bold and effective solutions. H beauty leverages Harrods’ unrivalled reputation for exceptional retail experiences and its market-leading beauty offering, to fulfil a gap in the diverse and expansive UK beauty sector.

The continued expansion of H beauty will not only breathe new life into existing retail space, but will also create several hundred important job opportunities across regional hubs throughout the UK.

The H beauty store will combine iconic heritage brands with pioneering newcomers and exclusive new launches to create an emporium of beauty.

Moreover, each destination will also offer customers the renowned immersive retail experience that Harrods is known for, with interactive Playtables, Skincare Stations and the iconic H beauty Champagne Bar.

Annalise Fard, director of Home and Beauty at Harrods, said: “The opening of three further H beauty stores, including the first store launch in Scotland, is a hugely important and exciting milestone for Harrods. The incredible response we have had to our first two H beauty store openings not only reflects the ongoing demand for exceptional, high quality retail experiences outside of London, but also the passion for beauty that exists amongst the customers we serve in these regions.”

Chris Pyne, director of retail at St James Quarter, said: “This is a game changing moment not only for St James Quarter, but for Edinburgh. We’re excited to bring Harrods’ unrivalled reputation for exceptional retail experiences and its market-leading beauty offering to Scotland for the first time.”
