The population of the City of Edinburgh increased by 6.6% between 2014 and 2019, according to the latest available figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS).
The only area in Scotland that saw a steeper rise in population was Midlothian with an increase of 7.2% in the last five years.
At the top of this Edinburgh list we have the council ward of Almond, this area saw a population rise of 14.2% from 32,165 in 2014 to 36,730 in 2019.
At the opposite end of the scale, and not included on this list, we have Morningside in Edinburgh having risen just 0.3% in the last five years.
These are the ten areas in the City of Edinburgh that experienced the biggest population booms in the last five years.

1. Almond

2. Portobello/ Craigmillar

3. City Centre
