How did the supermarkets compare?

There are some great deals to be had this week, wherever you choose to shop. Tesco, Aldi and Sainsbury’s all offering 69p for five bananas.

Which Edinburgh supermarket had the best value shop?

We tweak our shopping list every week. Aldi remains on top with Tesco and number two for value.

As our table shows, overall, the most affordable place to buy our typical weekly shopping basket was Aldi for the fourth week in succession. Aldi has superstores at Gorgie, Chesser, Oxgangs, Gilmerton, Cameron Toll, Portobello, Leith and Musselburgh.

All in, our price comparison basket from Aldi came in at just £18.36 this week.
