Apex Hotels, which has 10 properties in the UK, including four in the Capital, has launched the ‘Help in Hand’ initiative, offering local community groups and businesses the use of a complimentary space.

Small businesses, charities and community groups looking to get back on their feet following a challenging year, and new business start-ups looking to get off the ground, can take advantage of unused meetings and venue spaces as well as free wi-fi across each of the four city centre hotels.

The properties include Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel and Apex Grassmarket Hotel – both of which are located on Grassmarket – as well as Apex Waterloo Place Hotel on Waterloo Place and Apex Haymarket Hotel on Haymarket Terrace.

Kim Wilkinson, group director of sales for Apex Hotels, said: “It’s been a tough year for everyone, and the pandemic has had a massive impact on new and existing businesses as well as local community groups in Edinburgh and the surrounding area – many of whom are still unable to operate having lost their original spaces, or cannot carry out their work safely in their existing premises within current social distancing guidelines.

“We’re in a position to help out and want to do what we can to help get struggling businesses and groups back on their feet – or do our bit to get fledgling operations off the ground. Our meetings and venue spaces across the capital are perfect in terms of suiting the needs of a variety of businesses and groups, big or small. And we also throw in free wi-fi to ensure any online operations can continue seamlessly.

“Whether you’ve started teaching online classes during lockdown and want to take the next step into face-to-face workshops, you run a mother and baby group that requires space to provide much-needed support to new parents, or perhaps just need some space to expand a lockdown ‘side hustle’ that has outgrown your home, our team will work with you to find a space that works best.”
