The idea of the business is for tourists, residents, or anyone who wishes to have a go, to enjoy the beautiful sights of Edinburgh with the comfort and ease that an electric bicycle brings.

EZ are the only company in Scotland to have a stock of Radpower e-bikes and have sourced the unique and funky bikes from across the pond in Seattle.

Each bike in the store has been given a name with some named after the whisky producing islands and others after famous cartoon characters like Tom and Jerry.

The Radwagon model has a built in seat for up to two children under the age of five and the Radrunner model is equipped with an attachment that can hold one child's seat.

A number of the bikes have also been adapted so that customers can take picnic baskets and other goods with them for their tours or day out.

The bikes top speed is capped at 15.5mph to abide with regulations, but the long-lasting battery means that customers can travel tens of miles without breaking a sweat or the charge.

Customers have the choice of hiring the bikes independently between the hours of 10am-4:30pm or to go on a range of tours from ones conducted in the city centre or along the Edinburgh coast.

They also offer private tours and parties for groups and say they can cater for a wide variety of requirement. Those interested just have to get in touch with their request and EZ will see what they can do.

Carol said: “Despite starting in the middle of a pandemic we have managed to grow our brand and have got off to a really good start.

“We hope we can offer individuals, couple, families, students and tourists the opportunity to be able to explore Scotland’s fantastic city on the back of these state of the art ebikes. I personally offer a variety of historical tours in the city centre as well as along more coastal routes.

“The shop is situated by the Edinburgh cycle network and so all of our tours are designed with keeping our riders off roads wherever possible. Prices start at £45 to hire an e-bike for the day with five hour tours starting at £49.

“As a company we are always open to suggestions from potential customers to see if we can accommodate any of their unique requirements.

“We do believe that we offer a one of a kind experience to our clients and welcome anyone who wants to try an e-bike to get in touch with us at the store.”

EZ Bike Tours was started after Euan Scott and Carol Harris crossed paths when Euan was doing the mechanics for an e-bike tour company that Carol worked for.

The pair decided to join forces and launch the company as they felt they could offer a much better service than they’d previously been a part of for clients.

They also hope to carry out mystery tours as well as sell the Radpower bikes from the store soon.
