Legal firm Anderson Strathern appoints tax director with 30 years' experience

Anderson Strathern, the Edinburgh-headquartered legal firm, has bolstered its private client team with the appointment of a new tax director.

Alison Pryde, who joins from Gillespie Macandrew, brings nearly 30 years’ experience providing tax advisory services, with a particular focus on rural landowners, family businesses, professional partnerships, landlords and high net worth individuals.

She was previously a senior tax manager with Chiene + Tait, RSM and EY. Pryde will be one of eight chartered tax advisers at the firm, working alongside a team of around 50 specialist lawyers, accountants and tax experts.

Anderson Strathern has 51 partners and 266 employees across Edinburgh Glasgow and Haddington, East Lothian. Clients include Buccleuch Estates, the Scottish Government, Scotmid and Apex Hotels.

Carole Tomlinson, partner and head of private client, said: “We continue to focus on having the preeminent private client practice in Scotland and Alison’s appointment fits very much into this strategy.
