Legal firm 'one of fastest growing in Scotland' after further double-digit growth
Financial results for the year ending 28 February show that the legal business achieved a turnover of £16.8 million, up 11 per cent on the previous year. The firm said it was one of the fastest growing law firms in Scotland over the last five years. Growth in the year just past was achieved across the firm’s renewable energy, commercial property and dispute resolution services, as well as its land and rural business and private client activities.
Chief executive Robert Graham-Campbell said: “These strong results reflect the quality of our practice along with the commitment and expertise of our staff in supporting and advising our clients.”
Chairman, Michael Shaw added: “We have achieved another strong set of results and continue to attract talented practitioners to our business, as well as enjoying success in nurturing and developing talent from within.“
Earlier this year, the firm appointed five new partners across its corporate, family law, housebuilder and private client teams with internal promotions for Ross MacRae, Sharon Murray and Andrew Leslie. Private client and chartered tax adviser David Mowlem joined from Turcan Connell in May 2023, while corporate law specialist Alan Gilfillan returned to the firm from Balfour + Manson this July, having completed his traineeship at Gillespie Macandrew.
The firm advises clients on all areas of land and rural business, private client, commercial property, energy, tax and disputes. Last August, it said it had ended its financial year in a strong position, exceeding pre-pandemic revenue levels and re-establishing its annual growth trajectory of eight consecutive years prior to 2020.
For the year ending 28 February 2022 turnover reached £15m, representing an increase of 12 per cent on the previous year. Bosses said the practice had experienced increased legal activity post lockdown, particularly in property and court-related work. Graham-Campbell said at the time: “We have achieved another strong set of financial results, despite challenging trading conditions and periods of lockdown in the latter part of the year. This is testament to the quality of our practice together with the resilience of our staff.”
