The Edinburgh-headquartered company is creating 20 posts, including nine in Newcastle where it has opened a regional office – its fifth in the UK. The company is also present in London, Manchester and Birmingham.

The team of nine new innovation funding advisers will be basing themselves from the Newcastle office covering clients from across the North-east of England.

A further ten such advisers, including a new team leader, have also been recruited at ABGI’s Edinburgh base. Meanwhile, two technical analysts join in London where the company has moved into a new, larger site in the centre of the city.

ABGI UK chief executive Scott Henderson said the firm sees strong growth potential for the business in the North-east of England.

He also commented: “The new hires and move to a larger office in London reflect our growth across the South-east of England, while the new appointments in Edinburgh will provide support to our wider network of UK colleagues.

“With the UK economy facing major challenges, grant funding, tax relief measures and other innovation-focused incentives will have an increasingly important role to play in supporting business growth. This additional investment will ensure we are well-placed to advise more companies and help them secure these support measures.”
