It will occupy 19,000sq ft on Level 4 of the shopping galleria at the St James Quarter and promises to ‘shake up the city’s nightlife’.

The Edinburgh outpost will join Lane7 venues in Sheffield, Newcastle, Birmingham and Liverpool.

Children will be allowed at the venue every day until 7pm.

It comes after SushiSamba signed its first restaurant in Scotland at the development, as well as Bonnie & Wild, a new concept food hall by restaurant brand, Mac & Wild.

Tim Wilks, founder of Lane7, said: “We’ve been to Edinburgh more times than I can remember to hunt down the perfect Lane7 location, and we’ve finally found the right spot.

“Lane7 has a great reputation for delivering our unique take on bowling and gaming, and our team are raring to go in this world class city. Lockdown has given us the chance to rethink and push the bar on our guest experience, we can’t wait to bring a Lane7 night out to the people of Edinburgh.”

Ed Corrigan at St James Quarter said: “Our vision is to create the most diverse and attractive retail, leisure and F&B offering that Edinburgh has ever seen.

"The signing of Lane7 is a major milestone in this vision, creating the next generation in mixed-use with highly sought-after entertainment. Lane7’s exciting entertainment experience will be another reason to visit St James Quarter and the city of Edinburgh.”
