Wetherspoon confirms reopening of 60 Scottish pubs and more south of Border as restrictions ease

A further 44 pubs in England will be open for business from Monday April 26, adding to the 394 which opened last week.
The new pub openings include those in Guildford, Ilkeston, Lincoln, Morecambe, Camborne, Driffield, Nottingham and Reading, and London.

Hide AdWetherspoon will push ahead with opening 60 of its pubs in Scotland and 32 in Wales next week and three pubs in Northern Ireland on April 30. It will result in 533 of the company’s 871 pubs being open for business.


From April 26 the pubs, including those that opened on April 12, will be extending their opening times for an extra hour each day.
Customers south of the Border where there is no inside opening for now will be able to enter the pubs to gain access to the outside area and also to use toilets.
Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: “We are looking forward to opening the extra pubs in England as well as those in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We look forward to welcoming our customers and staff back to our pubs.”

Hide AdUnder the easing of lockdown restrictions in Scotland, alcohol can only be consumed outdoors until 10pm. Customers, however, will be able to enjoy a meal indoors with non-alcoholic drinks.
A further easing of Covid-19 restrictions is scheduled for May 17.
