Edinburgh pupils will return on Wednesday 12 August 2020, a week earlier than planned and will finish on 25 June 2021.

The council are currently putting arrangements in place for schools which will follow national guidance, physical distancing of two metres and hygiene regimes.

They have advised that school rolls in Edinburgh have been rising due a growing population in the city which means many of the Capital’s schools are at capacity making physical distancing more difficult.

From August pupils will receive a blended model of in-home and in-school learning.
