James Gillespie's Primary: partial school closure due to drainage issues

A school in the Capital has been forced to partially close due to ongoing drainage problems in the grounds.

Parents and carers of pupils at James Gillespie's Primary in Whitehouse Loan, Edinburgh, have been told several classes will not be going ahead on Friday 20 November due to the maintenance issues.

The following classes have been cancelled:

P1 (all classes)

P2 (all classes)

P3 (all classes)

P4C only (not other P4 classes)

Children in these classes above should not come to school on Friday and can instead access home learning via this link.

Staff who normally work in P1, P2, P3 and P4C should work from home.

Pupils who are still expected to attend school as normal are P4A, P4B, P5 (all classes) P6 (all classes) and P7 (all classes).

A spokeswoman from the school said: “We plan to fully re-open on Monday, 23 November for all classes.

"We apologise for the inconvenience.”
