Peter Higgs Edinburgh University Prize plan

AN annual prize to honour the Edinburgh University scientist who gave his name to the Higgs boson particle is to be announced by the First Minister, as he launches a week-long showcase of Scottish science.

The annual Higgs Prize will be open to all Scottish
pupils who excel in physics and will be formally launched by Alex Salmond and Professor Peter Higgs at a reception tomorrow.

The prize will offer young physicists the chance to win a trip to the CERN facility in Switzerland.
