It comes after the broadcaster announced televised briefings from First Minister Nicola Sturgeon would be reduced, sparking criticism.

The BBC had said they would continue to stream live briefings online but would only show them live on TV based on their “news value.”

But a new BBC Scotland statement, shared by one of their reporters on social media this evening, says: “With the pandemic still a major cause for public concern, we will, over the coming weeks and as we have done this week, look to cover the ScotGov health briefings live on TV".

Amid all of the controversy last week, Ms Sturgeon said the briefings would be vital, especially for older people who don’t routinely use the internet and other vulnerable groups such as those who are shielding or have hearing difficulties.
