Coronavirus: 14 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Edinburgh and Lothians with 141 more infected across Scotland

A further 14 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the NHS Lothian board area, with 141 new cases recorded across Scotland in the past 24 hours.

The latest Scottish Government figures, published at 2pm on Saturday, showed no new deaths have been reported. It means the death toll remains at 2,496.

But weekly data from the National Records of Scotland says 4,228 people have died in Scotland where the virus was mentioned on the death certificate, as of Sunday August 30.

The latest daily figures show that, of the 141 new cases, 68 were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area.

Twenty of the new cases were recorded in NHS Lanarkshire, with 14 new cases in Forth Valley.

The 141 new cases in the last 24 hours represent 1.5 percent of all newly tested individuals in Scotland.
