Coronavirus: Covid-19 case linked to Edinburgh pub Tor Bar in Restalrig as NHS Lothian tells close contacts to self-isolate

NHS Lothian has confirmed a positive case of Covid-19 linked to a bar in Restalrig.

The person concerned had been inside the Tor Bar (Torino Cafe) in Restalrig Road on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the health authority said public health teams are investigating and close contacts are being told to self-isolate for 14 days, with the situation being "closely monitored."

The spokesperson said: "For anyone who was in the bar on Saturday, August 29 and has not been identified as a close contact, the risk to their health is extremely low, but they should continue to be vigilant and aware of the symptoms.

"If you experience a high fever, persistent cough or loss of taste or smell, you must self-isolate and order a test through the NHS inform website www.nhsinform.scot"

It is understood the pub has since undergone a deep clean and has been inspected by environmental health and that all procedures in place were passed.
