Coronavirus in Scotland: 25 new deaths as the country records 1,327 new cases in last 24 hours

The Scottish Government has confirmed that in the last 24 hours 1,327 new cases of coronavirus have been reported and 25 more people have died.

Of these new cases, 454 are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 347 in Lanarkshire, 202 in the Lothians and 96 Ayrshire and Arran.

82 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed covid-19, this is a decrease of eight people from the day before.

1,100 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed coronavirus, 48 more than the figure reported by the First Minister yesterday.

The total death toll in the country stands at 2,726 after today’s 25 deaths.

So far, 59,201 people have tested positive for the virus in Scotland since the start of the pandemic.
