A total of 563 new covid cases and six new deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours across Scotland, the latest Scottish Government figures reveal.

Out of the 25,519 new tests for covid that reported results – 2.4% of these were positive.

26 people were in intensive care and 283 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed covid.

2,358,807 people have now received the first dose of the covid vaccination and 294,714 have received their second dose.

Sadly, there have been six new reported deaths of those who have had covid.

Since the start of the outbreak, 7,584 people have died who have tested positive for the virus.

During the week ending 27 March, 3,825 people tested positive for the virus for the first time.

216,705 people in Scotland have had covid, according to figures.

For the week March 14 to March 20, 2021, the Office For National Statistics ‘COVID-19 Infection Survey’ estimates that one in 240 people in Scotland had coronavirus.
