The Scottish government has updated figures showing cases of Covid-19 in regions across Scotland.

There are now 2,634 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Lothains, according to new statistics from the Scottish government.

The figures, which are updated daily, show an increase of 23 cases since yesterday.

Across Scotland, there have been 14,969 positive tests since the start of the outbreak.

They also revealed that 174 people are being treated in NHS Lothian hospitals, down from 180 at the same time on Thursday.

Just eight people are now being treated in the region’s intensive care units for confirmed or suspected Covid-19, a decrease of four on the previous 24 hours.

The number of cases across Scotland’s health board regions is as follows:

Ayrshire and Arran - 1001

Borders - 322

Dumfries and Galloway - 257

Fife - 826

Forth Valley - 909

Grampian - 1223

Greater Glasgow and Clyde - 3841

Highland - 335

Lanarkshire - 1913

Lothian - 2634

Orkney - 7

Shetland - 54

Tayside - 1641

Eileanan Siar (Western Isles) - 6
