Coronavirus: confirmed Covid-19 cases in NHS Lothian reach 1,980

The Scottish government has released new data confirming coronavirus cases across Scotland.

There are now 1,980 positive cases of coronavirus in NHS Lothian, according to new data from the Scottish Government.

The figures, published this afternoon, showed an increase in positive cases in the health board of 73.

It comes as the government confirmed the national figure stood at 11,353 confirmed cases.

280 of those people confirmed to have the virus are in NHS Lothian hospitals - an increase of 26 since the same time yesterday (Wednesday, 29 April).

16 patients are being treated in the region’s intensive care units.
