Coronavirus in Edinburgh: Leisure bosses shut golf courses on PM Boris Johnson's advice

LEISURE bosses have shut the Capital's golf courses in the wake of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's lockdown announcement.

Courses across the city had remained playable up until this morning while clubhouses were closed.

But Edinburgh Leisure chiefs confirmed this morning courses are off-limits until further notice.

They Tweeted: "GOLF ANNOUNCEMENT: following the Prime minister’s announcement, we would like to make it clear that all of our golf courses will no longer remain playable until we reopen.

"Please refrain from golfing until further notice."
