Coronavirus in Scotland: 108 new cases in the Lothians as the country records 1,159 positive cases in the last 24 hours

The latest figures published this afternoon by the Scottish Government show that no new deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours while 108 new cases were confirmed in the Lothians.

In total 1,159 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases 108 are in NHS Lothian, 459 are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde and 226 are in Lanarkshire.

To date, 100 people are in intensive care with recently confirmed Covid-19 which is an increase of eight since yesterday.

1,241 people are being treated in hospital having contracted the virus which is an increase of 41 from yesterday.

While no new deaths were recorded it is worth noting that most registration offices across the country are closed on the weekends.

The total number of deaths so far in Scotland now stands at 3,280 while confirmed cases have reached 80,294 since the pandemic hit in March this year.
