Coronavirus in Scotland: 123 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in the Lothians

A total of 123 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the Lothians in the last 24 hours, according to recent government figures.

Across Scotland, 1,341 new cases of the virus have been recorded from the other health boards across the country since yesterday.

To date, 147 people are in intensive care with recently confirmed Covid-19 and 1,918 people are in hospital having tested positive for the virus.

No new deaths have been recorded in today’s update, however, this is likely down to there being no registry offices open on a Sunday.

The news comes as the Scottish Government reported 224,840 people have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine and 3,331 have received their second dose as of 17 January.

Since the start of the outbreak, a total of 1,492,656 people in Scotland have been tested at least once.

Of these people: 162,333 have tested positive and 1,330,323 were confirmed negative.
